Easter procession in Savona, Liguria in Italy

In the evening of Good Friday every other year a religious procession takes place in Savona.
It is an extremely old tradition in memory of the way to Golgotha of Jesus Christ. Sculptures, the oldest from the 17th century, representing situations from Jesus's last time of living are carried by different groups from Savona.
Classical music is played and several choirs are singing Gregorian songs.
The procession stars at 21.00, passes the central parts of town and ends at midnigth at one of the squares.
Many people are in the streets to look at the solemn and impressive tradition, which begins Easter.
